21st April 1916

Good Friday Again spent at Queensferry under conditions of war. May the next one be more peaceful.

You inform me that the famous Ridgeway buns are not to be made this year – another sign of the times.

Attended Morning Service (Sunday’s routine today in spite of the war), and afterwards Holy Communion (this Service was well attended).

Received letter from you.

The battle-cruisers, light cruisers, battle ships and t. b. destroyers went to sea in the evening.

The weather has been dull.
