11th June 1916

(Sunday) At Chatham. Commander gave leave at 10 a.m. today. Woods S. B. A. went off at noon, all smiles and parcels. He is pleased as Punch over the teapot.

Wrote to Jude this afternoon.

Has been a cold, dreary sort of day and when this evening the electric light failed it was sad. I was jolly glad when the lights came on at 10 p.m.

Received a p.c. from Munday S. B. A. who is on leave. He states he posted the mails i gave him O. K.

I was thinking this evening, next Sunday is the anniversary of the torpedoing of this ship and I hope to be able to go to Church for thanksgiving.
